MAKATI Mayor Abby Binay said the distribution of midyear cash gift for 81,298 Blu card holders has started on June 18, and would be conducted by the Elderly Welfare Section of the Makati Social Welfare Department (MSWD) on scheduled dates from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in each barangay until July 3.
The mayor directed the said office to ensure the distribution is done in an orderly and efficient manner for the convenience of the beneficiaries.
The yearly cash gift is given in two equal installments every June and December, and varies according to specific age groups: P3,000 for those aged 60 to 69 years old; P4,000 for 70 to 79 years old; and P5,000 for those aged 80 and older. Thus, the first age group this June will receive P1,500; the second group, P2,000; and the third group, P2,500.
For 2018 the city has allocated P330.1 million for the cash gift and centenarian incentive under the Blu Card Program.
The cash gift distribution would be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Barangays Southside and Guadalupe Viejo at their respective barangay halls, and in Barangays La Paz, South Cembo and Comembo at their respective covered courts.
From June 19 to July 20, cash gift distribution was done at the barangay hall of Barangay Bangkal and at the covered court of Barangay Olympia.
Blu card holders of Barangays Southside, Guadalupe Viejo, La Paz, South Cembo, Comembo, Bangkal and Olympia who would not be able to claim their cash gift on scheduled dates can get them on June 21, Thursday, at the lobby of Makati City Hall Building II.
On June 22 and 23, Friday and Saturday, cash gift distribution will take place at the barangay hall of Barangay Rizal. For Barangay Pio del Pilar, distribution will be on June 22 (Ben Harrison’s Street/Parada covered court) and 23 (San Isidro National High School). On June 23 only, Blu card holders of Barangays Pitogo, San Isidro and Santa Cruz can get their cash gift at their respective barangay halls.
On June 25, Monday, distribution will be done at the barangay hall of Barangay Kasilawan. For Barangay Pembo, distribution will be on June 25 and 26 at their covered court.
On June 26 only, Blu Card holders of Barangays Valenzuela and Carmona get their cash gift at their covered courts, while beneficiaries ofBarangay Northside can claim theirs at Makati City Hall Building II.
On June 27 and 28, Wednesday and Thursday, cash gift distribution will take place at the barangay hall of Barangay Cembo and at the covered court of Barangay West Rembo.
On June 29 and 30, Friday and Saturday, cash gift distribution will be done at the covered courts of Barangays Guadalupe Nuevo and Palanan. Beneficiaries Barangay East Rembo (covered court) and Tejeros (Elderly Health Care Office at H. Santos Street) can claim their cash gift on Saturday June 30, and Monday, July 2.
On July 3, Tuesday, BLU card holders from Barangays Singkamas and Pinagkaisahan can claim their cash gift at their respective barangay halls.
In claiming the cash gift, beneficiaries who are unable to come in person can send their duly authorized representative, whose name appears at the back of the BLU Card, to the Cash Division at the third floor of Makati City Hall. The representative should be able to present a medical certificate as proof of the beneficiaries’ condition, whether bedridden, disabled or confined in a hospital.
Authorization forms are available at the MSWD office at the fifth floor of Makati City Hall main.
Senior citizens who are out-of-town or abroad during the distribution of the cash gifts are not entitled to claim the said benefit, and authorization presented by a representative will not be honored by the Cash Division.
