DEFENDING champion Cignal and overachieving Smart-Army try to stop another F2 Logistics-Petron finale when all four teams clash in the no-tomorrow semifinals of the Philippine Superliga (PSL) Invitational Conference today at the Muntinlupa City Sports Center.
Petron and F2 Logistics are seeking to forge a fourth straight finals duel from last year’s All-Filipino tournament to consecutive Grand Prix championship showdowns.
But lone unbeaten team Cignal seeks to stop F2 Logistics in the match set at 6 p.m. with the hope of advancing to the finals since sharing last year’s Invitational crown with Japan’s Kobe Shinwa University.
The overachieving Smart-Army, making its first semifinals appearance, tries to take down another giant, Grand Prix champion Petron at 4 p.m. after the 2 p.m. battle for fifth place between Sta. Lucia Realty and Generika-Ayala.
The winners will advance to the best-of-three titular series starting Thursday at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan, while the losing teams clash in a one-game battle for third place.
