CEBU Air Inc. said the low-cost airline it operates is poised to add a new route to its extensive domestic portfolio, this time directly connecting cities in Davao and Bohol.
Starting on October 21, CEB subsidiary Cebgo Inc. will commence the operations of its four weekly flights between Davao and Tagbilaran, according to Alexander Lao, the carrier’s president.
Lao said the new route establishes a connection for both air passenger and cargo service, expected to benefit the economies of the greater Davao area and the province of Bohol.
“We’ve looked at the feasibility of the Davao-Tagbilaran route and are optimistic that this new air link will not only answer the clamor from the local communities, but stimulate trade and tourism in both destinations,” Lao explained.
Davao is considered as CEB’s Mindanao hub, flying directly to Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Manila, Tacloban and Zamboanga; as well as to Singapore.
Aside from Davao, CEB’s Cebu Pacific also operates flights out of five other hubs in the Philippines: Manila, Cebu, Clark, Kalibo and Iloilo.
CEB opened on Monday at P111.70 before settling to P112 at the closing of the market.
