F2 Logistics puts its unbeaten record on the line against two-time defending champion Foton in the Chooks-to-Go Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix today at the Batangas City Sports Center.
The Cargo Movers, who have won all their six matches so far, will face their toughest opponent in the tournament, the Tornadoes, at 7:15 p.m.
Foton is running second with a 5-1 won-lost card and a victory over F2 Logistics would force a triple tie at No. 1 with Petron.
Petron, also toting a 5-1 card, faces inspired Iriga City (2-4) in the day’s other match at 4:15 p.m.
Foton Head Coach Moro Branislav had a week to prepare for Foton and made adjustments to guarantee that high-scoring import Sara Klisura, Dragana Perunicnic, Jaja Santiago, Maika Ortiz, Jen Reyes and Ivy Perez are ready for the Cargo Movers.
“This is a very tough tournament and every game is very important,” Branislav said. “We can’t take anybody lightly. We always have to be at our best, work hard and go for the win.”
Reigning Most Valuable Player Santiago hopes their chemistry would work against F2 Logistics’s Maria Jose Perez, Kennedy Bryan, Aby Maraño, Majoy Baron, Kianna Dy, Kim Fajardo and Dawn Macandili.
“We know that F2 Logistics has good blockers,” the 6-foot-5 Santiago said. “We must strengthen our middle game and be more consistent with our attacks.”
