TODAY, January 9, we once again commemorate the Trasla-ción, or the transfer of the miraculous image of the Black Nazarene from Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park to the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene or Quiapo Church in Manila.

AS Tropical Storm Nona (international code name Melor) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on December 12 and intensified into a typhoon on December 13, a total of 165,554 families were affected by the typhoon in Regions 4A, 4B, 5, 7 and 8 (source: National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council as of 8 a.m., December 16.)
RADIO Veritas 846, the No. 1 faith-based radio station in the Philippines, is inviting the public to visit and take part in its 12th Marian exhibit. Originally set to run from August 1 to 8 at the third floor of SM North Edsa, the exhibit is now extended up to August 16 to allow more Catholic faithful to visit and view the various images of the Blessed Mother and the saints. This is also in line with the celebration of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 15.

CARITAS Manila holds today (July 18) its first General Assembly for graduate beneficiaries of its more than six-decade education program. Formerly dubbed as Educational Assistance Program (EAP), Caritas Manila’s flagship program— Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP)—has so far assisted over 10,000 graduates.
Radio Veritas recently released the results of its Veritas Truth Survey conducted during the second quarter of 2015 regarding public opinion on election automation. The survey showed that a great majority of Filipinos (64 percent) do not want to return to manual elections in 2016.
