CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan—Student-athletes from Region 3 are a few steps closer to the most coveted sports competition in the country as they try to outdo one another in the upcoming Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) Meet from February 26 to March 2 here in the province of Bulacan.
The province, together with Sen. Juan Edgardo M. Angara and Sen. Manny Pacquiao, will welcome thousands of delegates from the cities of Angeles, Mabalacat, Malolos, San Fernando, Tarlac, Meycauayan, San Jose del Monte, Balanga, Cabanatuan, Gapan, Science City of Muñoz, Olongapo, and San Jose; and the provinces of Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan and Bulacan; during the parade and opening program ast 4 p.m. on February 25, at the Bulacan Sports Complex in Barangay Santa Isabel in this city.
Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said student-athletes need the support of the government to be able to achieve their goals and fulfill their dreams.
Winners in various sport events, including athletics, baseball, basketball, basketball, boxing, dance sports, sipa/sepak takraw, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball, badminton, bocce, goal ball, wushu/wrestling, arnis, archery, chess, football, futsal, gymnastics/aero gymnastics, table tennis, billiards and taekwondo will advance to the Palarong Pambansa to be held in the province of Ilocos Sur.
The CLRAA Meet 2018—anchored on the theme “Broadening Youth’s Horizon through Sports Competition”—was made possible through the joint efforts of the provincial government of Bulacan ,through its Provincial Youth, Sports, Public Employment Services Office and the Department of Education Schools Division Office in Bulacan.
