BUYERS of the popular Yamaha Mio series can now opt for greater safety and fuel efficiency across the whole range.
Yamaha Philippines unveiled on September 19 the Mio Aerox S at its flagship YZone showroom in Greenfield District. The new variant completes the company’s Mio “S” lineup in the country, which includes the Mio i 125 S and the Mio Soul i 125 S.
The standard model, which is the Aerox, is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, single-cam, 4-valve, 4-stroke engine—producing 15 horsepower and 13.8 N-m of torque, which is mated to a V-belt automatic transmission.
It also gets an LED headlight and taillight, a 5.8-inch digital gauge cluster, a hydraulic front disc brake and a mechanical rear drum brake.
But as it is, the S model new variant comes standard with Yamaha’s Stop-and-Start system, which the company said automatically turns off the engine if it has been idling for five seconds. The bike’s Smart Motor Generator then immediately restarts the engine when it’s time to move.
In addition, the Aerox S comes standard with antilock brakes for the front wheel, a smart key for keyless ignition and Yamaha’s Variable Valve Actuation system.
The company said customers interested in the Aerox S can reserve a unit through buymioaerox-s.com.ph.
After filling out the required details and getting a reservation code, customers will be contacted so that they could get their new bikes on the spot at Yamaha’s special event on 10th Avenue, Caloocan City, on September 29 and 30. Payment for orders through the site is cash basis only.
The Mio Aerox S is available in Matte Blue and White. It is priced at P122,900, which is P30,000 more than the standard Aerox.
