WITH companies in the Philippines standing to benefit from the huge potential of the digital economy, Voyager Innovations Inc. is gearing up for what its chief executive called a “hyper-growth” phenomenon in 2017.
Orlando B. Vea, the company president, said his group is confident this year will be a year of harvest for Voyager, after booking roughly P400 million in revenues and acquiring more than 6 million customers in 2016.
He said his confidence comes from an industry forecast made by International Data Corp. (IDC), which said the current digital transformation set to impact economies over the next three years to four years, will usher what is coined as the DX Economy.
“As the whole country moves toward the digital transformation or DX Economy, we are harvesting the potential here as we ramp up our platforms both for consumers and enterprises,” he said on Tuesday.
In the Philippines IDC predicts a quarter of the top 1,000 local companies will see a major shift to the digital realm. Their success will also be driven on their ability to create digitally enhanced products, services and experiences by 2020.
Established less than four years ago, the Voyager Group has introduced pioneering services running on mostly over-the-top (OTT) platforms in the areas of access, commerce, finance and marketing technologies.
“This is about making digital work in emerging markets and beyond telco, starting with the Philippines,” Vea said. Voyager’s platforms have emerged as the top choice of large enterprises, as well as small and medium enterprises, to execute their own digital transformation.
Vea said his group intends to double the company’s growth both in revenues and user base by end-2017.
“As we usher in the DX Economy, Voyager is in the best position now to make an impact on the digital transformation of consumers, enterprises and the country as a whole,” he said.
