Lifestyle writers attend a lot of product launches. When we get invites using words like “life-changing” and “the best ever,” we honestly don’t get excited anymore. What we get excited about is when the products prove to be effective over time as we use them.
Palmolive recently released a new hair-care line, called Expertique, which promises to make your hair look smooth and polished every day, like you’ve been to a salon.
Our household is the perfect place to test hair-care products because the people who live there have different hair concerns and issues.
The products in the Expertique line are infused with activated Kera-Ceramide Serum (KCS), which “contain technology that offers the powerful combination of Keratin and Ceramides, nourishing hair from the inside out.”
“Palmolive Expertique is a full hair-care regimen inspired by and crafted with experts to deliver salon-beautiful hair from the comfort of one’s home. It offers a complete range of hair solutions for those struggling with dull, damaged and frizz-prone or flyaway hair,” said Emily Fong Mitchell, marketing director for Colgate-Palmolive Philippines.
The Expertique line has three variants of shampoo and conditioner: Revitaliste, which is infused with activated KCS, Biotin and Hyaluronic for normal to dry hair to enhance hair vitality and natural movement; Smoothique with activated KCS and Rare Oil Complex for frizzy, flyaway hair to align and tame, and to add control to hair strands; and Resiliente, which has activated KCS and Arginine for damaged or over-treated hair to reconstruct and fortify hair against damage.
Complementing the shampoo and conditioner are three hair treatments: the Intensive Hair Mask that hydrates and helps restore strength and elasticity of dry, damaged hair; the Beautifying Hair Oil, which provides intense nutrition for enhanced shine and silkiness of hair; and the Anti-Frizz Serum that protects hair against frizz and flyaways.
To launch the Expertique line, Palmolive introduced Maureen Wroblewitz, the first Filipina winner of Asia’s Next Top Model, as its endorser. “We chose Maureen because she is relatable and beautiful. Other women can relate to what she has been through, how she’s had to prove herself,” said Mitchell.
The favorites in our household from the line are the conditioner, Beautifying Hair Oil and Anti-Frizz Serum. The oil and the serum are great for curly and/or unmanageable hair. I’m not really surprised that I like the Expertique line; Palmolive hair products have always been consistent. This isn’t because I got them for free. In fact, of all the hair-care brands in the Philippines, I get the least free products from Palmolive. The fact that I purchase their shampoos and conditioners says something about how good the products are.
The Palmolive Expertique premium hair-care line is available in all leading supermarkets nationwide. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/PalmoliveExpertiquePH.
Nivea, on the other hand, introduced young actress Liza Soberano as the face of its Next Generation Nivea Cleansers, a line that includes face washes and micellar water.
Nivea MicellAIR Cleanser zero-percent Alcohol promises to remove dirt, oil and hard-to-remove makeup, “without stripping skin’s moisture—leaving your face clear, baby-soft and smooth.”
Nivea Whip Foam Zero-percent Alcohol “nourishes and moisturizes the skin with its three times moisturizers while it cleanses dirt, oil and other impurities, leaving the skin visibly soft and smooth to touch.”
Nivea Extra White MicellAIR Cleanser Zero-percent Alcohol contains Pearl Extracts and Licorice Extracts that help whiten skin naturally, while Nivea Acne Clear MicellAIR Cleanser Zero-percent Alcohol has Magnolia Bark Extracts that act as an anti-inflammatory agent, and which also helps prevent new acne from forming by increasing skin cells resistance to external stresses and inflammation.
Soberano said she usually double cleanses, especially after work because of all the makeup that she has to have on her face.
“I love the MicellAIR Cleanser Zero-percent Alcohol because they don’t sting. I’m lucky not
to have sensitive skin and I rarely get pimples, but I try to really cleanse my face before sleeping,” she said.
Both products—Nivea MicellAIR Cleanser Zero-percent Alcohol and Nivea Whip Foam Zero-percent Alcohol are available in two variants. Extra White and Acne Clear. Small sizes (125ml MicellAIR Cleanser, 50ml Whip Foam) starts at P99 while the big size starts at P169 (MicellAIR 200ml, Whip Foam 100ml), available in all leading drugstores, supermarkets and department stores nationwide.
