Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP) held a series of tree-planting activities under the All Toyota Green Wave Project, a global environmental initiative of Toyota, which aims to help preserve and sustain Mother Earth’s ecosystems for future generations through various environmental activities.
As part of the program, Toyota affiliates worldwide aim to plant 11 million trees.
In the Philippines TMP recently engaged members of its value chain to participate in this endeavor. Inside the 82-hectare Toyota Special Economic Zone, the Green Wave Project was launched with a tree planting with TMP team members, supplier representatives and Grade 6 pupils from its adopted school, Pulong Santa Cruz Elementary School where 150 saplings were planted.
At TMP’s 10-hectare adopted forest inside the University of the Philippines Los Baños Makiling Botanic Gardens, members of its dealer network planted 150 saplings, while scholars from TMP School of Technology planted 200 more on another occasion.
Toyota said it would continue to strengthen the Green Wave Project in the Philippines by proactively engaging more members of its value chain and its adopted communities to take part in the project.
