A MONTH after the official topping off of their landmark project in Davao, Torre Lorenzo Development Corp. (TLDC) and Dusit International recently announced their constant partnership on a new development in the city province of Mindanao and another one in Southern Luzon.
The Dusit Thani Hotel at Lubi Plantation is the third property now being built by both companies in the Duterte bailiwick, following the Dusit Thani Residence Davao and dusitD2 Hotel.
On the other hand, the Dusit Princess Lipa Hotel in Batangas sits within the Tierra Lorenzo Lipa, a mixed-use, urban lifestyle hub that also features residential buildings, an international restaurant and a business center.
“Rooted in the Thai culture of grace and warmth, the Dusit brand has corresponded to world-class service and comforts for our patrons for the last 65 years. We now bring our brand of hospitality to the Dusit Princess Lipa Hotel and the Dusit Thani Hotel at Lubi Plantation in Davao as part of our happy partnership with Torre Lorenzo,” said Evelyn Singson, president and vice chairman of the Philippine Hoteliers Inc.
“We are aligned with their vision to build for the future, admire their deep understanding of premium living and their perseverance to compete in a market already saturated with so many options. Walk into a TLDC property, and you will understand what quality living is,” she added.
With the tie-up of two formidable names in their respective industries, Dusit’s mastery of hotel management complements well with TLDC’s real-estate development expertise to create sustainable properties.
“As a developer, our ability to anticipate the needs of future communities and provide that elevated lifestyle we see today is what sets us apart. We remain sensitive to the needs of our market, and build structures for them that support and validate what they’ve achieved in life,” TLDC CEO Tomas P. Lorenzo noted.
With investors on top of their minds, he said that their development projects promise real returns on investment and strong yield given their alliance with the Dusit International Group.
The Dusit Thani Hotel at Lubi Plantation is a five-star luxury resort designed to offer “exclusivity, privacy and luxury” at its 54 posh villas.
This P1.9-billion project also features a beach club open to daily visitors and targeting the growing convention market.
“It’s a beautiful island in the Davao Gulf. We’ve developed 36 hectares, of which we actually now have the phase 1 opened for the day events. So if you have day visitors or conventions, we are open and we are currently accepting people to come over,” the top executive noted.
The whole island where it will soon rise is a marine sanctuary in itself, perfect for different aquatic activities, according to him.
“So you can have a fantastic scuba, fantastic snorkeling and other water sports around the island,” Lorenzo said of the experience that awaits the guests. Costing P3 billion to build, the investment in the Dusit Princess Lipa Hotel in Batangas is inclusive of the three buildings for housing, dining and business in a 1-hectare property. As for the accommodation component, it will have 152 hotel rooms.
The presence of their codevelopment project in this side of the Southern Tagalog region, TLDC Chief Finance Officer (CFO) Noel Rapadas bared, is in pursuit of Lorenzo’s vision to be in fast-growing secondary cities in the Philippines.
“Hopefully, Lipa is the first among [the] many,” he said, while adding the climate as another deciding factor for them to locate here the first Dusit Princess Hotel in the country.
“One of the things about Lipa is that, aside from being a very exciting city to be in in a big prime city in Batangas, it’s the weather. Many people do not realize that it is of the same elevation as Tagaytay. It’s at the opposite side. So too much hype on Tagaytay when, really, the growth is in Lipa,” the CFO explained.
Given that continuous developments are now undergoing across their cocreated projects, both TLDC and Dusit are confident that they are on track to finish them as scheduled.
For the P4.5 billion worth Dusit Thani Residence Davao and dusitD2 Hotel—the pioneering five-star luxury complex in Davao and Dusit International’s first residence in the Asia Pacific region—the latter’s amenities, excluding the 124 accommodation rooms, will be opened by year-end, with the turnover of the former’s 174 housing units to follow in the first quarter of 2019.
The Dusit Princess Lipa Hotel in Batangas, on the other hand, is set for completion in 2021.
“All our projects are underway and generally within our timetables. We are excited in all these projects,” Rapadas said.
