I doff my hat off once again to the handlers of the Vios Cup Race 3 at Clark in Angeles, Pampanga.
They had so generously provided me with the race results once more as I missed the event due to my out-of-town trips down South coinciding with the tiffs.
Anyway, as it had been my habit of publishing here the complete results of every race, here are the list of the winners/finishers during last weekend’s hostilities:
Kia in Cavite
IT has not stopped growing, expanding. Kia is now in Carmona, Cavite. Columbian Autocar Corp., the exclusive Kia distributor in the country, has partnered with Regis Global Cars Inc. for the new dealership that opened on September 20 .
It is conveniently located near the Carmona exit of the South Luzon Expressway (Slex). Its complete address: Carmona Toll Plaza, Slex, Barangay Maduya, Carmona, Cavite.
Kia, Korea’s oldest manufacturer of motor vehicles, was founded in 1944. Over 3 million vehicles a year are produced in 14 manufacturing and assembly operations in five countries and are distributed to 180 countries. With a work force of over 51,000, Kia’s revenues amount to over $45 billion a year. Besides being an automotive partner of the Fifa World Cup, Kia is also the major sponsor of the Australian Tennis Open.
Princess Yohko in Tokyo Motor Show
THE Tokyo Motor Show fever is with us again. Set from October 27 to November 5 at the Tokyo Big Sight (in Tokyo’s Ariake waterfront area), the event’s theme is “Beyond The Motor” under the aegis once more of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association Inc. (Jama). Since 1999, I’d been a Toyota guest to the biennial meet and for which I haven’t gotten tired of proudly telling friends about this distinct honor.
This year’s 45th edition will open to the general public on October 28, with press days set on October 25 and 26. The “official ceremony day” is on October 27, with no less than Her Imperial Highness, Princess Yohko of Mikasa, officiating at the show’s Opening Ceremony.
For the first time ever, the official web sites of all 14 domestic automakers will “blitz” a common promotional display, exhibiting their 15 vehicle brands that will highlight the organizers’ goal of redefining the show within the context of continuous evolution in motorization.
A point of interest is the Tokyo Connected Lab 2017. This exhibit will explore how the very meaning of mobility will be redefined when connected automobiles communicate with each other and with infrastructure through information and communications networks and artificial intelligence.
The exhibit comprises three programs in which visitors will be able to experience and reflect on mobility’s future.

PEE STOP I pray and hope that the Mindanao rubber plantation project of Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol, the former feisty governor of North Cotabato, will push through as planned as it will be expected to generate 16,000 metric tons of rubber when fully operational—good for at least 4 million tires produced per year for all types of vehicles. That’d be a gigantic leap as the country produces only 100 metric tons of rubber annually. All the best, pareng Gob!
