“BE completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love” (Ephesians 4:2).
As we welcome the incorrupt heart relic of Padre Pio, let us also welcome his love for God in our own heart. Let the heart of Padre Pio remind us that our Lord is always with us especially in times of loneliness and suffering.
As children of God, we should live with faith so that our hearts will be purified and the Holy Spirit will replenish our souls. Like Padre Pio, let us always consecrate our life to God and communicate with Him through prayers.
However, in order to communicate with God properly, let us repent of our sins and put away any kind of hatred and anger in our heart, and let the value of love, compassion, mercy and generosity take place as we pray. Let us ask for His forgiveness so that we may also see His grace and will be able to forgive ourselves and our brothers and sisters.
Let the heart of Padre Pio touch us so that we will be able to live with faith and be united with the Father. Let us live together with God in the Kingdom by having an incorrupt heart like Padre Pio, who offered himself and lived in simplicity.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men” (Colossians 3:23).
Devotees may visit and pray before the incorrupt heart of Padre Pio in various locations on different schedules:
October 11-13: Cebu Cathedral;
October 14-16: Davao Cathedral;
October 17: San Sebastian Cathedral, Lipa City, Batangas;
October 18-26: National Shrine of Saint Padre Pio, Santo Tomas, Batangas (Round the clock veneration and confessions); and
October 26: Concelebrated Mass at 9 a.m. (Farewell liturgy, and departure and motorcade to the Naia).
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, let us all open our hearts for God’s grace and blessing. Let Padre Pio’s simplicity, humility, and faith, inspire us and strengthen our communication with God through our prayers.
May the incorrupt heart relic of Padre Pio remind us that God is the Way, the Truth and the Life. And may it give us the courage to repent of our sins and accept the grace of the Father through the Holy Spirit.
