When the 11 disciples went to the mountain in Galilee and saw Jesus, they worshipped Him yet had their doubts. It is encouraging to know that they had predispositions about what they were called to do but were willing to overcome it so they may follow Jesus’ orders.
We have all been there or for some, are still in that moment of doubt. Learning something can do that to us but as we go through the process and gain knowledge and understanding, we somehow forget why we had doubts and fears in the first place.
So if Jesus has called us to “make disciples of all nations,” the first thing we must do is to be a disciple ourselves. God has already chosen us and filled us with the Holy Spirit when we were baptized, and He will always remain in us.
As followers of Christ, we are all called to spread the Word of God as part of His plan for us. We may choose to do it as a profession like the path I have chosen, be a part of community and church projects, teaching your children at home about God and many other initiatives that allow us to be a great example of the power of God’s love.
It can be any action that aims to encourage those with little faith to seek a connection with God and experience the healing powers of His love. Encouraging nonbelievers to seek a connection and experience God and the healing powers of His love. However way we choose to share our faith, we always do it with love and respect.
As you get up in the morning, strive to ask: “What good [thoughts and actions] will I do today?”
Go through the day learning about God through those around you. Be a living example of God’s love through acts of kindness that reflect your commitment.
And as you prepare for bedtime, find time to ponder on “What good did I do today?”
There will be insurmountable circumstances, doubts and weaknesses along the way that may impede us to serve. Keep moving forward. Always remember that the power of the Holy Spirit dwells in us.
Let us always keep in our hearts these words: “I am with you always, until the end of age.”
