Study cites Cebu Landmasters as market leader in Visayas and Mindanao

PUBLICLY listed real-estate firm Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI) remains the leading property-market player in the Visayas and Mindanao (VisMin) regions, based on the latest Santos Knight Frank’s (SKF) 2017 study.

Covering major cities of Cebu, Davao and Cagayan de Oro (CDO), the research showed CLI is No. 1 in both horizontal and vertical developments as it aggressively pursues expansion of its footprint in the region.

The developer continues to be the biggest in the house-and-lot segment in the Queen City of the South, partaking 18 percent of the supply and owning a 12-percent share of the condominium market delivering 2,638 units.

Its very own Casa Mira South has the most number of 1,007 housing units and has the highest take-up rate with 43 units sold per month.

In Davao CLI registers the highest take-up of 57 units each month and also outperforms competitors with a 97.96-percent or 98-percent absorption rate through its pioneering project—MesaTierra Garden Residences.

The company’s MesaVerte Residences accounts for 24 percent of the total condo-unit share and also has the highest absorption level of 93 percent among all vertical developers in Cagayan de Oro.

Citing the results of the study, SKF said CLI’s constant developments well received by homebuyers helped it secure a firm foothold of the VisMin market.

Twenty more projects across the VisMin region are in the pipeline to bring the Cebu-grown developer’s diversified portfolio of residential subdivision, residential condominium, offices, hotels, retail and estate to a total of 66.

These initiatives in various stages of development will be located in seven key cities, such as Cebu, Mandaue, Dumaguete, Bacolod, Iloilo, CDO and Davao.

The listed company plans to expand its footprint to General Santos City, Butuan City, Ormoc City and Roxas City.

“Cebu Landmasters is bringing local real-estate mastery to the Visayas and Mindanao areas where there is persistent economic growth,” said Jose Soberano III, CLI chairman and CEO.

“We now have 46 developments in seven key cities, and we will continue to expand our footprint in VisMin by rolling out 20 more projects this year. We want to keep our leadership capitalize on business opportunities, and offer more real-estate developments that meet the diverse needs of the VisMin markets,” he added.
