SOCIAL Security System (SSS) President and CEO Emmanuel F. Dooc said they plan to build the SSS provincial office and processing center on a 1,000-square-meter lot donated by the local government unit (LGU) of Camarines Norte.
“This piece of land will be helpful in bringing SSS services closer to the public. It will benefit Bicolanos in Daet as social security protection is now within their reach,” Dooc said, noting that the center, after construction, is expected to accommodate 603,000 registered members.
He expressed gratitude to the Camarines Norte LGU, particularly Gov. Edgardo A. Tallado and Vice Gov. Jonah G. Pimentel for the land donation.
The provincial government of Camarines Norte, through its Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution 474-2018, issued on September 26, 2018, granted Tallado the authority to donate the land to SSS.
Based on the deed of donation, the SSS will build a service office and a processing center on the lot within three years. It will be the first SSS processing center in the province of Camarines Norte. The service office will be under the supervision of SSS Daet Branch, which currently serves more than 48,000 registered members and caters to an average of 800 transactions daily, first-semester 2018 data revealed.
“The processing center will expedite the processing of claims filed by our members, pensioners and their dependents,” Dooc said. “A shorter processing time will let our claimants reap the benefits of their contributions to the pension fund.”
