South Korean consumer electronics firm Samsung is eyeing Filipino millennials as the main market for its Soundbar audio products.
“We definitely are focusing on the millennial market. Being tech-savvy, millennials use multiple gadgets for communication, work and entertainment,” the company said in a recent e-mail interview with the BusinessMirror.
“With all the stress from balancing career responsibilities with passion projects, millennials would resort to watching a good movie or listening to their favorite songs to unwind. This makes the home entertainment system an integral part of their lifestyle. Upgrading their audio system, therefore, would appeal to them,” the company added.
The company believes the Samsung Soundbar is going to be attractive to millennials because it provides convenience and has a sleek design: two key features that millennials look for in their gadgets. It pointed out that the audio system wirelessly connects to a television or a smartphone, eliminating cable clutter. As far as the design is concerned, it said the Soundbar has a streamlined design with a premium finish that goes well with any living space.
To reach out to a bigger market segment, the company said it has a complete lineup that enables millennials the option to choose the Soundbar that will meet their preference, taste in entertainment and, more important, the budget.
In terms of market positioning, the company said the Soundbar is going to be branded as a “superb audio system that elevates home entertainment to a full cinematic experience, providing superior sound quality through simple solutions”.
The company said all Soundbar models are all-in-one device, emphasizing that size does not matter in home theater systems. It added that through the Soundbar design, consumers can now opt for smaller, compact and sleek Soundbar that can complete the viewing experience through its advanced audio technology at a reasonable price.
For instance, Samsung’s HW-K950 Soundbar with Dolby technology is the world’s first full package to include two up-firing speakers, a subwoofer and two rear wireless up-firing speakers. Meanwhile, the Soundbar Sound+ is Samsung’s first Soundbar to embed the subwoofer directly to its compact body.
The company said the Soundbar is a game changer through its cinematic sound quality, powerful bass and wireless connectivity. It added the Soundbar has three key features like the cinematic sound quality, powerful bass and wireless connectivity to raise the bar of home entertainment.
