REVOLUTION Precrafted Inc., a start-up led by a son of former Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose E.B. Antonio, on Tuesday said it has closed a deal with Spanish firm BC Estudio to supply hotel and residential units along the Ebro Delta in Spain.
“We’ve always wanted to expand to Europe, but we wanted a unique and high-impact project that would showcase our expertise and product portfolio. At the same time, we wanted a project that would shine a light on Europe’s ecotourism potential. We are very happy to partner with BC Estudio in spearheading a development that would further strengthen Spain’s tourism,” said Jose Roberto R. Antonio, the company’s founder and CEO.
Spain becomes the 13th international market for Revolution Precrafted, which also supplies locally listed firm Century Properties Group Inc., the company the family owns.
The partnership between Revolution Precrafted and BC Estudio—an architecture, design and property management company—followed the former’s recent business roadshow in Europe this June, the company said.
Antonio said the company will build 50 units of hotel villas on a 12-hectare lakefront plot. This represents the first phase of what is envisioned to be a 260-unit development project on a total of four plots along the Ebro Delta located in Tarragona, Catalonia Region.
As part of the initial phase, the local firm will help build around 40 one-bedroom villas measuring 30 square meters (sq m) each. It will also build an additional 10 two-bedroom villas on the lakefront plot. Each unit costs a minimum of $200,000.
The villas on the initial phase will be accompanied by a main clubhouse measuring 700 sq m.
Gabriel Barba and Jordi Barba, partners at BC Estudio, said the tourism potential of the sites is significant, considering their location.
BC Estudio will work in collaboration with local partner office in the Ebro Delta, Actua B Arquitectura.
Ebro Delta is popular among tourists for its beaches, sand dunes, rivers and lagoons. It is also one of the best fishing and water sports areas in Europe.
“We are very excited about this partnership with Revolution Precrafted. We have always wanted to create elegant, design-driven homes and villas that would cater to the thousands of tourists who visit the Ebro Delta all year-round,” Barba said.
Antonio said the development of the master plan will take several months, while the construction of the hotel villas will start in early-2019.
“We are keen on completing the plans for this project by the third and fourth quarters of this year with the intention of starting land development in early-2019,” he said.
The Antonio-led company currently has projects in the Philippines, Myanmar, Indonesia, The United Arab Emirates, Japan, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Trinidad, Guyana, Jamaica, Bahamas and Bahrain.
The company expects to be present in 25 countries by the end of 2018.
