The local government of Quezon City has released on Tuesday a total of 400 million to the city’s 142 barangays as their real-property tax share for the fourth quarter of 2017.
Mayor Herbert Bautista led the distribution of P22.3 million to District 1, P26.4 million to District 2, P57.7 million to District 3, P84.9 million to District 4, P99.5 million to District 5 and P109.2 million to District 6.
The barangays with the highest shares are Loyola Heights with P7.1 million, Pasong Putik with P3.5 million, Socorro with 2.8 million, South Triangle with P2.1 million and Fairview with 1.8 million.
The fund’s release was made through the Barangay Operations Center and the City Treasurer’s Office on Tuesday at the Quezon City Hall.
The local government said the barangays are expected to utilize the funds for their infrastructure improvements, local development and livelihood and other projects.
Quezon City Liga ng mga Barangay President Recardo B. Corpuz said the funds will be utilized by the barangays for their programs on gender and development, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and children.
“All these programs are included in our annual budgets. All of our constituents must benefit from our shares of the real-property tax,” Corpuz said during the turnover ceremony.
