PHILIPPINE Telegraph and Telephone Corp. (PT&T) has struck a deal with security solutions provider 5G Security Inc. to empower both companies to provide cybersecurity solutions to enterprises in the country.
Under the deal, the two companies would jointly develop cybersecurity solutions to support the government’s cybersecurity program through 2022 by offering Philippine-based companies digital protection from potential attacks.
“PT&T’s partnership with 5GS couldn’t be more timely. Cybersecurity is essential in today’s world where the number of transactions in the Web are increasing,” PT&T President James Velasquez said on Sunday.
5GS offers cybersecurity solutions, both hardware and software, such as multidimensional security system, ground security–personnel access control, ground security–vehicle access control, ground security–perimeter protection, medium/low airspace protection, computer network/online protection, security visualization and security operations center.
“The strength and reliability of our services will complement PT&T’s products and services.” 5GS SVP Leuvino Valencia added.
Velasquez noted that “a true end-to-end security setup is realized with the 100-percent fiber network of PT&T and the cybersecurity expertise of 5GS.”
PT&T has a fiber-optic cable network that spans roughly 10,000 kilometers, which can provide for seamless connectivity.
