KALIBO, Aklan—No less than National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” M. dela Rosa has given orders to all the police officers in the country to protect women.
SPO2 Michael Pontoy of the Aklan Provincial Police Office said the Men Opposed to Violence Everywhere (MOVE) PNP chapter received the instruction from dela Rosa in time for the celebration this March of Women’s Month.
Pontoy serves as the assistant secretary of the national MOVE-PNP. He is representing the Western Visayas region.
MOVE-PNP is currently headed by Police Supt. Eric Dampal of the PRO Region 11.
“General Bato told us that since the male population dominated all government agencies, including the PNP, we as police officers should served as icons of family, highlighting our advocacy to protect women,” Pontoy said.
