CONGLOMERATE Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) is banking on the rapid growth of the country’s outsourcing and offshoring industry (O&O)—roughly $21.8 billion in 2015—to further expand its enterprise business.
To sustain job creation, however, outsourcing companies must invest in digital services that equip them with tools that can help maximize their operations and prepare them for the digital age.
“The local O&O industry is a definite success story for the Philippines, consistently improving year-on-year. This rapid growth, while a welcome development, creates challenges that might stagger the industry,” PLDT First Vice President Juan Victor I. Hernandez said.
“By introducing solutions that help address these risks, PLDT enables O&O enterprises to sustain their growth, further catalyzing digital transformation in our economy,” he said.
He listed the services that will help boost engagement and retention of new and prospective agents, such as Smart Ads, SafeZone and Takatack Reward.
Smart Ads help provide insights from certain user groups based on factors such as location, behavior and demographics.
These insights can be used to create content that target specific groups. Smart Ads helps reveal high-traffic areas and reach audiences through SMS broadcasts, interactive messaging and other targeted communication devices.
O&O enterprises can utilize this service to reinforce their talent-acquisition initiatives based on their specific requirements, adding another layer of prospective agent screening in their hiring processes.
SafeZone allows enterprises to provide free access to their web sites and online apps to attract prospective customers and increase traffic and call-to-action.
O&O enterprises, Hernandez said, can provide potential hires with free access to their recruitment pages in tandem with Smart Ads to facilitate drive-to-site.
Takatack Rewards, meanwhile, is an online solution that offers loyalty programs and e-wallet services.
Outsourcing companies can utilize this program to provide recruitment incentives, payouts and allowances through gift certificates, giving their employees more rewards and purchase options.
“Going digital has proven to be a crucial growth area for the country. As more businesses embrace the digital landscape, we at PLDT highlight our commitment to help enterprises move into the digital space, further spurring digital transformation in the country through our continued investments in network infrastructure and technology platforms,” Hernandez said.
