Science ministers of Asean member-states and other key leaders in the region are set to gather in Cebu for a series of meetings that will push forward for enhanced cooperation and harmonized strategies in the development of science, technology and innovation (STI) and its deployment for sustainable growth from October 15 to 19.
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is in charge of the event to deliver on the commitment of making STI regionally strong and integrated, globally excellent and responsive to the needs of the Asean population.
Likewise, the science agency will showcase unique Filipino heritage, inviting local micro, small and medium enterprises and other DOST-assisted projects for an exhibit that will promote their crafts to the foreign delegation.
Forums on health ethics, technology transfer, innovation promotion, and youth leadership in science, technology, engineering and mathematics are lined up, as well.
Last year’s meeting, held in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, approved several STI projects worth thousands of dollars.
