A BRAND synonymous with classic work-wear and a carefree attitude to dressing, Perry Ellis (www.facebook.com/PerryEllis.ph) debuts a new and updated look to two new stores in Robinsons Place Manila and Glorietta 2.
Featuring walls painted in a lively shade of mustard, sleek new furnishings, and mid-century modern design influences, the new look exudes the same fun, witty yet sophisticated attitude its namesake designer was known for in the 1980s.
Exclusively distributed in the Philippines by The Anthem Group, the latest Perry Ellis collection features a new uniform and a mix of utility and frivolity. The rules have changed and so have the dress codes. Modern is now “Go anywhere dressing” and versatility is key.
The clothes perform in a variety of ways. They move, repel water and stretch in more ways than two. The clothes breathe a new light into the term sportswear. The details are functional and sometimes exaggerated, while the fabrics are rich in color and pattern.
A blend of natural fabrics and “super-natural” synthetics, there’s a mix of the old favorites of cotton and linen with polyurethane, nylon and lycra.
The balance is nonetheless maintained and the blending is effortless.
Sheer layers expose the beauty from within and provide lighter weights to layering. Shirtings double as jackets. Suitings are loosened up and reimagined, with softer structure and looser silhouettes. Denim is reintroduced and tailored into new shapes. Cotton blended knits are washed to a soft fade for easy layering. The look is sporty, easy and polished; a perfect progression toward a versatile, functional wardrobe.
