THE much-awaited motorcycling event of the year Partakan 2018 took off on Wednesday with the kickoff ceremony at the Clark Parade Grounds in Angeles, Pampanga.
All riders will then head to Pozo Rubo beach in Santa Ana, Cagayan, where several activities have been prepared by the organizers for all the participants. But before that, all riders were expected to participate in the “Amazing Ride”, a competition right after the flagoff.
The Amazing Ride is the premier event of the affair, as it takes all participants through some of the most beautiful sceneries and trails in the country. This year’s route offers a combination of mountain, hill and valley terrain that will ultimately lead to the splendid beaches of Santa Ana, Cagayan.
Aldous Rex Alingog, general manager of Ropali Motorcycles, who started it all, emphasized that the Amazing Ride is not a race but a competition that requires intelligence and cooperation on all participants. In fact, he said all pit stops will be closed at night to discourage night-time driving. Riders who can complete all the pit stops and complete the challenge will take home a prize.
Aside from the Amazing Ride, speed freaks will have their fill in the Auto Moto and Bail Out challenge to be held in the same venue. For those who will not be joining the said events, the organizers made sure that they have something for everyone like a Rock Fest (Battle of the Bands), Bikini open, Motorcycle Clinics and Engine Assembly Contest, Tattoo huts, massage and food stations as well. There are also beach games like volleyball, a kayak race and trail ride.
Riders who are interested in joining the event can register via www.partakan.com and pay the registration fee of P250.
This year’s ride fest is being sponsored by Shell Advance, the official lubricant, and V-Power Gasoline, the official fuel, Honda, Yamaha and Mahindra/Asian Brands. It is also being sponsored in part by Suzuki, Kawasaki and Standard Insurance, Eye Catcher, Sec Motorcycles, Northern Cement and Lalamove, while GMA is the official media partner.
