The province of Cavite is one of the fastest growing and developing districts in Southern Tagalog. With the numbers of municipalities converted into cities, it is evident enough that Cavite has been navigating the road of progress.
Some of the measures we use to know if a locale is indeed growing are the number of schools, the presence of a good wet and dry market, churches, malls, banks and, of course, the kind of health-care facilities it offers to its residents.
For several years now, I have been a resident of Cavite, particularly in the municipality of Imus, which is less than an hour’s drive to my office in Makati. Over the years, I have witnessed the rapid development in the region. The several malls built in different parts of the province, the numerous property development projects, face-lifts of several educational institutions and even healthcare establishments.
The city of Imus has experienced rapid development over the years, with the formerly agriculture-focused districts now finding an influx of residents who want to live in affordable convenience near Metro Manila. This development needs a local government that is dynamic in answering the needs of its constituents.
One of the latest large-scale legacy projects initiated under the leadership of Cavite Third District Rep. Alex L. Advincula, Mayor Emmanuel L. Maliksi and Vice Mayor Arnel M. Cantimbuhan—new public hospital, which was inaugurated on October 12, 2018—was a concept that started as a dream of Advincula for the less-fortunate Imuseños and Caviteños.
In 2013 Advincula donated the 30,000-square-meter property for the proposed site of the said public hospital, and that same year he started looking for funds to facilitate the construction of the hospital. In total, Advincula allocated about P300 million for the completion of the said project.
Health care where it is needed
The Ospital ng Imus has a 4,000-sq-m floor area, consisting of 22 wards and 19 private rooms with 130 beds, five doctor rooms, and number of medical service and personnel rooms. It is classified as a Level 1 hospital with major and minor operating capabilities and ancillary services, such as laboratory, x-ray and ultrasound. Hospital chief Dr. Edgardo Figueroa will oversee at least 20 doctors, 25 nurses, and 15 consultants, who will be available for the day-to-day services for Imuseños, indigents, senior citizens and other residents in need of medical attention. A Medical Arts Building adjacent to the hospital, is now being planned with an additional budget P35 million.
“We are very proud to have this very modern, first-class facility that offers quality medical services to Imus. Prior to the establishment of the Ospital ng Imus, our patients had to be rushed to medical facilities as far as Las Piñas. With the opening of this local hospital, we can better serve our constituents and give them the prompt medical attention that they need,” said Cantimbuhan.
Legacy for progress
Advincula said that he has known the need for this facility even as he was growing up in Imus.
“I grew up in a simple family that relied on government services. This is why, when I came to this position, I promised myself that I will give more people more access to much-needed services and facilities.”
This is why this administration is focused on infrastructure and also livelihood programs, such as teaching new skills that Imuseños can use for additional income. The congressman added that their concerted vision is that of a progressive Imus, where urban planning can make a difference, and make it competitive with the commercial business districts in Metro Manila.
For his part, Maliksi said the legacy project for infrastructure includes the Ospital ng Imus, alongside the development of the City of Imus Government Center, a P1.4-billion project that will house the Executive and Legislative offices, and a City of Imus Coliseum to host indoor sports activities and performance entertainment. “The Imus local government aims to have healthy, happy, and productive citizens through our different programs and projects. With the opening of the Ospital ng Imus, we are better prepared for the growth and development of our city toward the future.”

I hope they’re able to help the people there in Imus now regarding the virus.
Ung iba nmn pwd basta ibang doktor kahit parehong hoapital. Pakitulungan nmn kmi asap. Eto po number ko 09776381675
