Minimum-wage earners in Northern Mindanao will finally get another round of wage increase next month.
The National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) reported the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board in Region 10 (RTWPB-Region 10) approved a new wage order raising its existing minimum-wage rate by P27 to P35.
The new wage order will take effect on November 1.
Once it becomes effective, nonagriculture workers in the cities if Cagayan de Oro and Iligan and the municipalities of Tagoloan, Villanueva, and Jasaan will get P365, while those in agriculture industries will get P353.
The new wage rate for workers in the cities of Malaybalay, Valencia, Gingoog, El Salvador, Ozamiz, and the municipalities of Opol, Maramag, Quezon, and Manolo Fortrich is P358 [nonagriculture] and P346 (agriculture).
For the cities of Oroquieta and Tangub, and the municipalities of Laguindingan, Mambajao, and Balingasag is P350 [nonagriculture] and P338 [agriculture].
The wage rate for all other areas not covered by the aforementioned rates are P343 (nonagriculture) and P331 (agriculture).
