HE has a striking resemblance to the tall, dark, hunky and handsome Richard Gomez.
And like the latter in his younger days, Miguel Villasis is very much into basketball. His love for the sport and the adoring fans perhaps made him realize that he wanted to be in the limelight.
Thus, through some connections in show business, Villasis grabbed the opportunity to do a short film and launch a single entitled “Date Tayo” via online platforms.
“Date Tayo” happens to be an endearing piece of musical work to the millennials, which he co-wrote and sung together with singer-artist CK, with music composed by “flip-top” sensation Rapido and arranged by Von Magno Florida.
This early, Villasis struts his talent and artistic side by helping create the song, into where he poured his emotions and personality.
The single is produced by PSR Studios, the sister company of entertainment news portal, Philippine Showbiz Republic (www.PSR.ph).
It was also used as a soundtrack of the short film Two Strings Down, with the rising star himself as the main character. Shot in Hong Kong, the film will be shown in local film festivals and abroad.
As a newbie artist, Villasis wants to explore the world of local showbiz. Gifted with a model’s height, he has joined a number of male searches, where he won first runner-up in a recent one.
In an interview, he said he has been attending acting workshops, which enhances his timing and acting delivery. This early, Villasis is also learning to memorize the faces and names of showbiz people, including the members of the media covering the beat.
“Date Tayo” is currently making waves through music-streaming sites.
And sooner than we could expect, the music video will be available in YouTube.
Watch out for Miguel Villasis as he prepares for his wonderful date with destiny—one that seems to teem with success.
