MIASCOR Aviation Services Inc. has partnered with Monark Foundation Institute (MFI) to provide in-plant training to scholars aiming for a career as aviation ground support equipment maintenance mechanic/operator.
The partnership falls under the MFI’s Dual Training System (DTS), MFI said. DTS is a training modality that combines theoretical and practical training wherein the school and workplace share the responsibility of providing scholars with well-coordinated learning experiences and opportunities. MFI is a DTS-accredited educational institution that conducts a program on Heavy Equipment Servicing NC II. The program, according to MFI, is certified by the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority.
“This initiative is part of our mission to nurture talents and build a highly skilled and educated work force,” Miascor Executive Vice President Herman Reyes was quoted in a statement as saying. “We look forward to welcoming distinguished graduates of the course into the company.” Miascor provides services for incoming and outgoing international and domestic flights across five major airports in the form of ground handling, cargo handling and warehousing, in-flight catering, lounge management and operations, FBO, into-plane refuelling, line maintenance and ULD assembly and repair.
The Heavy Equipment Servicing NC II course administered by Miascor and MFI began on September 4 and ends on January 15, 2018. The course will run for a total of 2,700 hours with 1,040 hours spent on school training where scholars learn basic trade theory, work values, good citizenship, safety and related theory subjects in mathematics, drawing and social sciences; and 1,580 hours on in-plant training where they learn job skills through practical exercises, actual maintenance activities on site and develop good work habits. At least five scholars are participating in the course.
