JUST in case you don’t know it yet—and if you don’t then you have not been following this corner of the page religiously—I am 100-percent gay. Every bone in my body confirms it.
But on February 17, during a trade event at the Rockwell Tent touting the new ABS-CBN shows, I doubted my sexuality—well, for maybe about five seconds. You see, Bridges of Love was announced and before the special number of the lead stars of the upcoming ABS-CBN prime-time teleserye, they showed clips of Paulo Avelino, Jericho Rosales and Maja Salvador. In the new soap, Maja plays Mia, a feisty club dancer—and by “club,” I don’t mean the likes of Valkyrie or Universe, the latter a hip and happening club of which one of the owners is my good friend, the indefatigable and always smiling Franco Saycon. When you’re in Universe, located at Resorts World Manila, make sure you get “shot” by one of his toy guns always filled with tequila.
In Bridges of Love, Mia is a dancer in a seedy club where the characters of Paulo Avelino and Jericho Rosales fall in love with her. In the AVP, Maja was shown gyrating to some sexy music. It was spellbinding. I mean, it was really hot—and I could swear for that fleeting moment I was a straight man.
Good thing the AVP quickly cut to the scenes of Paulo and Jericho, which reminded me of my true-blue preferences. Back to Maja: Many people ask me if Maja is as beautiful as she is in person as she is on television. I always answer that she is exactly that in person, if not more so. She has one of the most refreshing faces among the young stars we have right now. The first thing you notice are her eyes. They sparkle and have a bit of naughtiness in them that surely drive men wild. Then, there’s her smile. It’s very infectious.
Of course, there’s her body, as well. Maja has developed into a vavavoom vixen. She is lean but has the curves in all the right places. Every time I see her, I can’t help but sigh in envy as I reminisce about my younger, carefree days where I could eat just about everything and not gain a single pound (but that’s another story).
I really think that Maja has everything. She is now enjoying a flourishing career and a blooming love life with beau Gerald Anderson. Of course, the Kim Chiu fanatics are always ready to go up in arms against Maja for stealing Gerald away from their idol. They accuse Maja of betraying Kim.
Maja can’t help but feel affected whenever she gets bashed by the so-called Kimerald fans. She would sometimes wonder if the relationship is worth the nasty remarks from these rabid fans, the nastiness occasionally spilling into worrisome threats. That said, she maintains that she is happy where she is right now.
Maja is in a good place and she will readily fight for the happiness she thinks she deserves. And that makes her beautiful.
So, to people who keep asking me if she is indeed gorgeous—once and for all, Maja definitely is. Take my word for it.

Anyway, do you think you’re as gorgeous as Maja? Or as delicious as Paulo Avelino?
