The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is now an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 certified.
No less than MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim received the certificate awarded by AJA Registrars President Paul Bagatsing, with Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) Project Manager Cheryl Ortega during Monday’s flag- raising ceremonies.
“This is a great day for MMDA having received this certificate. We acknowledge the efforts of the entire work force in securing the certification. Congratulations to all of us,” said Lim as he addressed agency personnel who were, likewise, elated by the fact that the agency has complied to quality management systems.
According to Lim, having the ISO certificate has been a dream since he took over as chairman in May 2017.
“Today is the realization of that dream after more than a year in office,” Lim said.
This is the first time for the MMDA to be ISO-certified in a full scope.
His other dream, the MMDA chairman declared, is to build a new headquarters for the agency and move out from the existing “old” building that houses the employees.
“This building is not ours. I want us to have a place of our own and with our continued efforts we can look forward to a groundbreaking ceremony soon,” said Lim, who earned cheers from the personnel.
