“We took a lot of initiatives this year and we’re very happy for the warm response from our guests,” said Cathy Mendoza of the Marketing and Communications department, Bellevue Hotels and Resorts.
“So, this is our way of giving back to all of the support we have been receiving.”
This year Bellevue Hotels and Resorts started to adopt green campaigns: the preference to use paper straws, and organic shampoo and soaps; and the replacement of in-room complimentary bottled water with pitchers and glasses under the #AyokoNgPlastik movement, in partnership with WWF-Philippines. There is also the donation drive to fund a conservation project of the environment.
In September, The Bellevue Resort spearheaded the Doljo Beach cleanup in Panglao Island, Bohol. With 378 volunteers, the coastal cleanup drive collected a total of approximately 750 kilos of non biodegradable waste from the beach shore and another 15 kilos of plastic waste from the sea. The hotel also continues to lead regular coastal cleanups and conduct talks among school children on environmental issues, and conservation and protection campaigns with the help of volunteers, in cooperation with plastic-free Bohol.
In other developments, the B Hotel Quezon City recently opened its doors to fur families with the launch of the hotel’s pet friendly policy. “Pet lovers and staycationeers with pets are very happy that we have become a pet-friendly hotel in the area, so, we have been getting a lot of inquiries. Since then, we have been receiving fur families as check-in guests,” shared Christian Cruz of the Marketing and Communications department.
The year also saw The Bellevue Manila inviting kids to participate in the different activities of the Bellevue Kids Club. “We want kids to actively play and learn at the same time, away from digital games and gadgets. For example, we have partnered with Engineering for Kids to introduce mechanical, chemical and others in the form of play. We also held kiddie arts and crafts workshops during Saturdays.
For 2019 we are going to launch the B Hoteliers kid internship program. We want them to learn practical life skills they can use in their daily lives in a learn-and-play environment. And that’s just one of the many activities our guests can look forward to,” added Cruz.
To add to this season’s merriment and welcome the New Year with a bang, the B hotels have prepared special treats and holiday offers. “Showcasing our best offerings for our guests, of course, the must-have food in The Bellevue Manila is the sisig, while in B Hotel Quezon City, it’s the Red Velvet cake.
“This year, Pastry chef Lucy Vitug took a twist and created the Red Velvet Bibingka. It’s perfect for the season because Filipinos love to eat, especially during the holidays,” said Mendoza.
