KMC Solutions recently launched three more flexible workspaces in Metro Manila to address the need for more shared office environments in the Philippines, estimated at 1.2 million square meters (sq m) this year.
Colliers International’s The Flexible Workspace Outlook Report 2018 said the growth in the flexible workplace sector is driven by freelancers and micro, small and medium enterprises, as well as multinational companies that establish local start-up teams.
“With the growing number of start-ups and entrepreneurs and the increasing number of foreign companies that want to establish presence in the Philippines, there is a growing demand for flexible workspaces,” said KMC Managing Director Michael McCullough during the unveiling ceremony held in Quezon City.
Flexible workspaces are combinations of serviced offices and co-working spaces.
These jobsite models, based on a study of real- estate market analyst Leechiu Property Consultants, are preferred mostly by start-ups and rapidly growing companies.
This could be attributed to benefits they offer—low capital requirements, flexible leasing terms and collaborative setups—that their conventional counterparts don’t have.
As the traditional office format slowly becomes obsolete, KMC is leveraging on this trend with the newly inaugurated flexible workspaces located at Robinsons Zeta Tower in Quezon City, Rockwell Sheridan 1 in Mandaluyong City and Robinsons Cyberscape Gamma in Ortigas.
They added to its four serviced offices in Bonifacio Global City, two in Makati City, and two in Ortigas Center, Pasig City, and Mandaluyong.
KMC Chief Operating Officer Tracy Ignacio said they invest a lot on health and wellness amenities to make their latest workspaces well-balanced.
These facilities include common areas, such as multifunction rooms, bars and pantries. There are separate training rooms, interview rooms and conference rooms. Also included are multiple Internet connections and 24/7 security.
“Our training rooms are not just for the mind. They are also used as training room for the body,” she said. “So it’s not just work, but relaxation as well.” KMC Solutions is among the 85 coworking spaces and serviced offices with two types of flexible workspace solutions that cropped up in the country’s major central business districts.
This ISO-certified flexible office solutions and staff leasing provider serves established organizations, such as Samsung, eBay, Airbnb, LinkedIn, Sun Life Financial, Pru Life UK, Merck and other major industry disruptors.
Aside from workspaces, it offers legal, technical and administrative supports, such as manpower augmentation, equipment and technical setup, organizational and administrative processes to register or setup a business.
The company plans to expand outside of Metro Manila, specifically in the Visayas region, to cater to the growing need for coworking and flexible working space is booming.
“We at KMC are committed to help local and foreign businesses, entrepreneurs, and small to medium-sized enterprises in the Philippines in providing initial support, working spaces, even up to the growth and expansion of their operations,” McCullough said.
