WHEN Bruno Mars goes onstage, expect a show—one that will engage you from start to finish. It doesn’t matter whether he’s wearing a suit or a baseball jersey and a cap; the man is there to put on a show you’re unlikely to forget.
Mars and his Hooligans always put on a dance party, and last Thursday night, May 3, at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena was no different.
It was the first of Mars’ two-night Manila leg for his 24K Magic World Tour and MOA Arena was packed. Tickets had been sold out as early as November 2017.
Mars opened the show with “Finesse” and closed it with “Just the Way You Are.” He did an encore of “Uptown Funk.”
He did a mix of old and new hits, including “Versace On The Floor,” “24K Magic,” “Chunky,” “When I Was Your Man,” “Runaway Baby,” “Treasure” and “Marry You.”
This was the third concert in the Philippines for Mars, who is of Puerto Rican and Philippine parentage. Before this, Mars last performed in Manila in March 2014 for his The Moonshine Jungle tour. He also held a concert here and in Cebu in 2011.
After the concert, the party moved to Chaos at City of Dreams where Mars hosted the 24K Magic official after-party.
There, guests got the chance to see Mars up close.
The two-night concert was mounted by MMI Live and Smart Music Live, which gave away hundreds of tickets for both dates.
By the way, Smart has also teamed up with YouTube to provide subscribers free daily, one-hour access to the video-sharing site until July 15.
