GLOBAL port operator International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) is once again helping to bankroll the ongoing programs of Go Negosyo, a ranking official of the company said .
This is the second time in a row the Enrique K. Razon-led company partnered with the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) to promote entrepreneurship.
“With micro, small and medium enterprises leading the growth of our country, our partnership complements that of ICTSI’s principle of upholding the long view of things—creating impact that is felt across borders and generations,” ICTSI Global Corporate and Asia Pacific Head Christian R. Gonzalez said in a statement.
Go Negosyo is an advocacy of the PCE that started in 2005, aiming to address poverty through mentorship and opening linkages to business opportunities and funding sources for micro, small and medium enterprises.
Among the programs financed partly by the port operator are events, such as the “Mentoring the Mentors,” “Filipina Entrepreneurship Summit” and “Mentor Me on Wheels,” among others.
“We draw our everyday lessons from ICTSI’s humble beginnings and the challenges we managed to weather along the way. Partnering with the PCE and Go Negosyo is our own little way to help businesses in the country succeed,” Gonzalez said.
ICTSI started out as a niche port operator in Manila 30 years ago. From there, ICTSI expanded its horizons by jumpstarting an aggressive international and domestic expansion program.
