HYUNDAI Asia Resources Inc. (Hari), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, registered a 33-percent increase in year-on-year sales in October.
In a statement on Thursday, the automaker announced vehicle sales in October reached 3,266 units, compared to 2,462 units in the same month last year.
In the 10 months of the year, sales have reached 30,717 units, or a 12-percent improvement from last year’s 27,483 units.
Hari said sales of its passenger-cars segment grew by 22 percent, from 1,726 unit sales in October last year to 2,113 unit, sales this year. The top-selling model of this segment, the Accent, drove the growth. Accent recorded a sales growth of 88 percent from 758 units in October 2016 to 1,424 units in October 2017—sales nearly doubled for October on a year-on-year basis.
Meanwhile, Hari added Hyundai light commercial vehicles (LCV) grew from 736 unit sales in October last year to 1,153 units sales this year, recording a 57-percent growth. H-100, under the LCV segment, had a very significant growth of 117 percent from 169 units in October 2016 to 366 units this October 2017.
