DURING the recently concluded Inside Racing Bike Festival at the World Trade Convention Center in Pasay City, Honda Philippines Inc. (HPI) unveiled four new and exciting motorcycle models.
This was the company’s way of elevating their product concepts to cater the modern lifestyle. By continuously innovating their motorcycle lineups, it also meets the goals to fit the changing preferences of the Filipino customers—from beginners to experts; commuters to touring; cool to sporty; and sports racing. Further, a fashionable design into consideration. Ultimately, the company is committed to its mantra to make Honda as “Your Bike, Your Life, and Your Style.”
HPI MC Sales Operation General Manager Hideo Nishinaga affirmed their mission during his opening remarks. “The constant change in the lifestyle of every Filipino customer, particularly the young generation, to which each lifestyle desires wider range of option is offered in this market. And as options expand, Honda keeps innovating its products to fit the change needs of the Filipino customers,” he said. For 11 consecutive years, HPI has been a consistent exhibitor in the country’s most prestigious motorcycle show to showcase their product rosters to the motorcycle enthusiasts and soon-to-be-riders.
The new Wave110
First to be presented was the upgraded version of one of the most popular Cub Models. The Wave100 series has earned the Filipino trademark for its styling and long lasting image. The original and much sought after model made a bold comeback in the form of the new Wave110. It is now powered by an all-new 110cc, four-stroke, OHC, air-cooled single cylinder, Euro 3 compliant engine to provide the improved balance of performance and fuel efficiency. Mated to a four-speed, constant mesh type, semiautomatic gearbox, it is now capable to produce 8.2 hp at 7,500 rpm and 8.49 N-m of maximum torque at 5,500 rpm. Honda claims that it can deliver an outstanding 55-kilometers per liter fuel consumption theoretically.
The new Wave110 is being offered at a very affordable price of P56,900 for the Drum are in Pearl Tourmaline Purple, Candy Lightning Blue, Victory Red and Pearl Magellanic Black colors. The Disc Type, on the other hand, is priced at P60,900 in Lemon Ice Yellow, Candy Energy Orange and Matte Axis Gray Metallic shades.
All-new Click125i
Next was the new scooter defining a class of its own with its new “pop” design. It now boasts a new sporty vibrant and exclusive Filipino colors, plus striking new decals for an impressive ride and remarkable presence. While the all-new Click125i dropped the ISS (Idling Stop System) function, it retained the revolutionary 125cc PGM-FI, four-stroke, SOHC, liquid-cooled eSP engine. It delivers 11 hp at 8,500 rpm and 10.8 N-m of maximum torque at 5,500 rpm coupled to an automatic, V-Belt type transmission. It’s being sold in a very reasonable price of P80,900 in Black, Affinity Black Metallic, Winning Red and Ross White colors.
CRF250L
Last but certainly not the least, was the dual sport class motorcycles. HPI went on full throttle to serve the need for the countryside market with the new CRF250L. It was designed to meet the demand of Filipino off-road fanatics who are also in seek of a more stylish appearance. Its lightweight and slim proportions is matched with superb maneuverability; while its suspension, ground reach and seat height delivers a fun and comfortable ride on rough tarmac and trails. Powered by a 249.5cc single cylinder four-stroke, four valves, liquid-cooled, PGM-Fi engine which delivers 19.6 hp at 7,500 rpm and 19.4 N-m of maximum torque at 5,640 rpm. It is mated to a six-speed, constant mesh, wet multiple clutch chain drive transmission. It’s tough, practical and equally at home around a city block or out on the trail. Priced at P232,900, it’s certainly worth every penny.
