GENERAL Nutrition Centers (GNC Philippines), a leading nutrition and wellness brand, is
now operated by new franchisee, Singapore-based ONI Global Pte. Ltd. ONI Global also holds the franchise for GNC Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
The four countries have a combined total of 4,000 stores, and there are plans to open more. ONI Global CEO and Executive Director Cynthia Poa said they want to bring the number of stores in the Philippines from 40 to 100 in the next five years.
Speaking at the recent relaunch of GNC in the Philippines, which had US Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim as guest of honor, Poa said the brand is now “bigger, better and stronger.” A pioneer in the health and supplement industry, GNC has been in the Philippines since 1994, ONI being the third franchisee of the Pittsburgh-based brand. All stores in the Philippines now offer a premium shopping experience and will be updated to align with those in GNC Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan.
The changes bring a wider selection of new, exciting and innovative products that will cater to every member of the family; extensive training of store staff about the products offered; excellent customer service; and door-to-door delivery through the company’s online marketplaces and logistics partners in the region. GNC believes in connecting its customers to their best selves via a premium assortment of health, wellness and performance products, including sports nutrition supplements, weight management supplements, vitamins, herbs and greens, wellness supplements, health and beauty, food and drink and other general merchandise. This includes proprietary GNC and recognized third-party brands that cater to every individual in the family.
GNC is known for its range of multis, which are scientifically formulated, clinically studied lifestyle, gender- and age-specific multivitamins. The Mega Men and Women’s Ultra Mega variants contain up to 56 vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and herbs that provide gradual release of nutrients for maximum absorption. “Some people believe that as long as they eat well, they don’t need multis. Multis are like insurance for the body. They address deficiencies in our bodies. Who has the time to cook? Or eat a proper and balanced meal? Honestly, not everyone eats meals with nutrients intact,” said Poa.
GNC’s Triple Strength Fish Oil contains the highest potency of EPA and DHA. Its fish oils and omega products undergo multiple purification processes to concentrate essential omega-3 fatty acids while removing unwanted contaminants, such as mercury, PCBs, dioxins, lead and cadmium.
Ultra Probiotic 25 has 16 unique strains, including clinically studied probiotics, for digestive and immune support.
The store also carries a wide range of weight management supplements, from fat burners and meal replacements such as bars and shakes, to appetite control. GNC Burn 60 has a clinically proven thermogenic formula that helps to enhance metabolism, burn calories and boost energy levels. Burn 60 works best with a healthy diet and exercise program.
GNC is no longer a store for just body builders and athletes.
Other products now available include GNC Women’s Hair, Skin and Nails Formula; antiaging StemC derived from the placenta of thoroughbred horses; and GNC Milestones for children of all ages to help ensure healthy growth and development.
But they’re still the go-to destination for sports nutrition products. From GNC Pro Performance and AMP Gold, to Optimum Nutrition, Cellucor, Muscletech and more, GNC can meet workout needs with an extensive range of preworkout, endurance, muscle-boosting and post-workout recovery products to support performance goals.
