FOR the second time in two years, a car breached the metal barrier at a steel parking lot in Greenhills commercial center in San Juan, Rizal, this time involving an octogenarian doctor at the wheel, whose car fell three storeys down.
Dr. Teodoro Llamanzares, father-in-law of Sen. Grace Poe-Llamanzares, was treated for fractures and scratches at Cardinal Santos Medical Center but was likely spared more serious injury by his seatbelt, according to the senator.
According to earlier police reports, Llamanzares drove his Toyota Innova up the parking building before noon of Sunday but on reaching the third level, apparently miscalculated and went past the barrier, plunging to the street below.
Senator Poe expressed relief that the accident injured no one else.
In a viber message to reporters, Poe said:
Two years ago, a call center agent’s car also breached the metal barrier at the parking building and fell from the second level.
