GRAB Philippines has launched free bus and jeepney services for its customers in Metro Manila to help provide passengers with a transport means during rush hours this Christmas season.
Cindy Toh, who heads the marketing division of Grab Philippines, said the company recognizes it cannot meet the demand for transportation in Metro Manila, especially now that almost everyone is booking a ride via Grab.
Hence, it has decided to provide point-to-point (P2P) bus and jeepney rides for its passengers who use GrabRewards, the loyalty program of the transportation network company.
“The Grab Christmas Express campaign all comes together in Grab’s Better Everyday credo which, among its services, only has one goal—to improve your everyday experience. We are mindful that going home can be more challenging this season and we are happy to provide support for our commuting public,” she said.
She said Grab users can avail themselves of the Grab Christmas Express Bus and Jeeps by claiming their Christmas Express Unlimited Pass from the in-app GrabRewards catalogue. The ticket can be used multiple times, but is equivalent to one seat only. The Grab P2P buses operate from 5 to 11 p.m. covering SM Megamall to SM North in partnership with Froehlich Tours Inc., and Mckinley Hill to San Lorenzo Place route in partnership with Citylink Coach Services.
Grab Christmas Express Jeeps will operate on busy and high-demand locations covering the following routes and schedules: Ayala-Market! Market! (11 a.m. to 11 p.m.); Edsa-Pasig (11 a.m. to 8 p.m.); Edsa Crossing-Kalentong (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.); PRC-Mantrade-Kayamanan C (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.); and Guadalupe-Gate 3 (11 a.m. to 11 p.m.).
Grab Christmas Express Jeeps are distinguished by the Grab logo sitting atop their roofs.
“As we end this year, we want our consumers to take away the feeling of home, the joy of being with the people and things that matter to them. We are privileged to be the conduit of this feeling this Christmas,” Toh said.
