National Police chief Director General Oscar D. Albayalde relieved on Monday the chiefs of police of Midsayap, North Cotabato, and General Santos City following terrorist bombings in their areas.
Chief Insp. Patrich Elma and Supt. Manuel Cadungon were sacked as police chiefs of General Santos City and Midsayap, respectively, following the successive blasts in their areas of jurisdiction. Elma was replaced by Senior Insp. Davis Dulawan, while Cadungon was replaced by Supt. Joan Maganto.
“Because of [the bombings], again, we reminded our regional directors in Mindanao area to strengthen their target hardening measures,” Albayalde said, adding the police officials should also intensify their intelligence-gathering operations in order to stop the spate of bombings.
