Fortune Life Insurance Company Inc. has sent mobile clinics to different schools nationwide to attend to the health needs of public-school teachers.
The health services are benefits provided to the teachers as members of Fortune Medicare Inc., or FortuneCare, a managed health-care company. At the same time, the teachers are insurance policy holders of Fortune Life.
Evelyn T. Carada, Fortune Life executive vice president and general manager, said the life insurer is helping facilitate the provision of health services to the teachers in recognition of their valuable contribution in nurturing the youth.
The mobile clinics are being fielded in coordination with the Department of Education through its schools divisions. For this year, some 1,700 teachers have availed themselves of the mobile clinics.
The teachers came from 25 schools that served as venues for the onsite clinics and other nearby schools. “It was not only the teachers in visited schools who were served but many others, as well in the schools nearby,” said Garry Pasion, Fortune Life assistant vice president for marketing.
Biñan Elementary School in Laguna was the first to host the onsite clinic, followed by other public schools in Rizal province, Marikina, Cavite and as far as Mindanao. More schools in other places are scheduled to be visited by the clinics.
