THIRTY-ONE family beneficiaries of Dubai housing project in Baseco Compound can now have homes they can call their own as Mayor Joseph E. Estrada distributed proofs of ownership to them.
During the awarding ceremony held on Monday at the Bulwagang Villegas of Manila City Hall, the third batch of beneficiaries received the certificate of titles and keys for the donated homes.
Previously, Estrada awarded the proofs of entitlement to the first and second batches, consisting of 32 and 16 families, respectively.
To date, a total of 79 families have been awarded ownership of housing units.
Bambi Purisima, media information officer of the Manila City Hall, told the BusinessMirror on Tuesday that the remaining 49 dwelling units will be turned over to the beneficiaries by next year.
The Dubai housing project in Baseco Compound has a total of 128 units.
“This is a joint project of the city of Manila and the DILG [Department of the Interior and Local Government] and is part of our advocacy to give decent homes to all Manileños,” Estrada said.
