AS part of its continuing business literacy program for its constituency, Barangay San Lorenzo in Makati City recently held the Barangay San Lorenzo Business Week with the theme “Developing an Entrepreneurial Mindset.”
The four-day event is a partnership with the Barangay San Lorenzo Business Association, the local chamber of commerce which covers establishments in Legazpi Village, Ayala Center and Arnaiz Avenue.
The group, which has a membership of over 1,000 firms, is mandated to organize effective education and training programs for the improvement of business skills and encourage corporate social responsibility. It is the private sector’s official channel of various business concerns through its representation in the Makati Liga ng mga Barangay Business
Council.
According to barangay chairman Ernesto Moya, the activity is part of their continuing education program to promote the spirit of enterprise within the business and residential community.
The event opened with a trade fair at the Glorietta Activity Center featuring programs and products of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Science and Technology, the Asian Institute of Management and members of the Association of the Filipino Franchisers Inc.
DTI Assistant Secretary Mary Jean Pacheco keynoted the formal opening and talked on the provisions of the newly enacted Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 (Republic Act 11032), followed by talks from renowned motivational speaker Francis Kong and Potato Corner CEO Jose
Magsaysay Jr.
