The public works department has completed a multimillion-peso road-enhancement project in Batanes, making it easier for tourists to visit the famed Vayang Rolling Hills.
The road project was undertaken for P34.9 million.
Engineer Rommel E. Fabi of the Department of Public Works and Highways-Batanes District Engineering Office said his group has improved the Vayang Rolling Hills road from gravel to cement.
This, he said, makes the site more accessible and conducive for local visitors and foreign tourists.
“The Vayang Rolling Hills is one of the most recognizable tourist destinations in Batanes. This road- upgrading project will ensure faster and smoother traveling experience for the public,” he said.
“This will also help reduce dust pollution and ensure immediate delivery of basic services to the residents living near the area,” he added.
As one of the famous landmarks in the province of Batanes, the Vayang Rolling Hills offers a view of the West Philippine Sea.
