THE Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Davao del Norte on Monday has approved the provincial government’s budget for the year 2018 amounting to P1,658,100,000.
The amount is 8.7-percent up from this year.
The Provincial Budget Office projected that P1,457,558,887, or P14.88 percent of the amount, would come from the the Internal Revenue Allotment share of the province from national government, while the rest will come from local sources.
Presiding Vice Gov. Alan Dujali thanked provincial board members present for the passage of the provincial appropriation ordinance approving the executive budget proposed by Gov. Anthony del Rosario.
Meanwhile, the 2018 budget of the province’s capital city of Tagum for 2018 was estimated to be P1,344,335,455, informed City Councilor Agripino Coquilla, the SP’s finance
committee chairman.
The budget was approved Tuesday last week.
Tagum City has only 23 barangays, while Davao del Norte has a total of 223 barangays.
For having a huge budget with the least number of barangays, Tagum City has been comparatively touted as “the crown jewel city of Davao del Norte.”
