THERE is a sense of giddiness when you get a product from Bobbi Brown. Maybe it is the font used in the packaging, or the actual bottle/palette/tube itself that brings on that feeling. I really don’t know. I’m just sure I love all the products. Bobbi Brown never fails me. My favorites include the Creamy Matte Lip Color (Tawny Pink), Eyeshadows (Rose Gold and Taupe) and the Intensive Skin Serum Foundation SPF 40.
I was thankful to receive a box of Bobbi Brown’s new products for the first quarter of the year. “Wow, Bobbi Brown is looking clinical,” commented one of my online friends, when I posted the contents of the box on Instagram.
She was referring to the two small bottles from the Bobbi Brown Remedies line, which was inspired by Bobbi’s holistic approach to beauty. I got Skin Reviver and Skin Moisture Solution, but there are six treatments that address different concerns.
- Skin Reviver (No 91), which includes green algae, kale, Brussels sprouts and spinach, helps increase the appearance of skin’s vitality.
- Skin Moisture Solution (No 86), a mixture of hyaluronic acid and mineral-infused waters, provides immediate hydration and stimulates skin’s natural moisture levels.
- Skin Fortifier (No 93) is a strength and recovery tonic; Skin Relief (No 80) is a calming red algae complex; and Skin Clarifier (No 75) is for pore and oil control.
The potions and tonics can be used individually, or layered with skin care or foundation. Use only two to three drops per day. Layering the products is also encouraged.
- Finally, Skin Salve (No 57) is a combination of Shea butter, beeswax, turmeric extract and licorice extract. It was created to protect, soften and restore. Bobbi Brown also unveils its Skin Glow Collection because everybody is all about the glow these days. It includes three Cheek Glow Palettes, three Extra Lip Tints and an Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm.
I have the Cheek Glow Palette in Pink Opal/Homecoming Pink and, like most Bobbi Brown products that I own, it did not disappoint. The colors are perfect for my darker skin tone and I love the creamy consistency. The other color combinations are Pearl/Pink Flush and Bare/Desert Rose.
Bobbi Brown encourages the use of your fingers when applying the products. I have used my fingers, a Beautyblender and a stippling brush on different occasions, and they all worked perfectly. But Bobbi Brown is right—it is better to use your fingers.
The Extra Lip Tint isn’t a new product but two new shades—Bare Popsicle and Bare Melon—have been launched. This product is a tint/balm hybrid that gives a sheer wash of color while moisturizing your lips.
Finally, the Extra Illuminating
Moisture Balm, which can be used as a moisturizer or highlighter over makeup, has light reflective pearls that mimic the radiance of healthy, glowing skin and lychee extract to energize. I liken this product to my favorite MAC Strobe Cream.
For February, Bobbi Brown is launching a new skin cleanser that’s a cream-oil hybrid. Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Milk not only cleans skin, but it also protects the natural moisture barrier and delivers a moisturized cushiony feel. This cleanser was created on the basis of Bobbi Brown’s philosophy that “cleanser shouldn’t strip skin. It should add something back and make skin feel even better than before”.
