A total of 163 farmers from various Cavite towns recently received land titles from the government through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with Reform (CARPer) last Friday, August 25.
Secretary John R. Castriciones of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) said certificates of land ownership awards (CLOAs) covering a total of 112.32 hectares from the municipalities of Naic, Tanza, Trece Martirez City, Dasmariñas, Magallanes and Indang, Cavite, were distributed by the DAR in simple ceremonies in Silang, Cavite.
Castriciones said the distribution is part of the stepped-up effort of the DAR to distribute lands and provide support services to CARP farmer-beneficiaries.
The DAR chief said the DAR will also help facilitate access to start-up capital to make the newly acquired lands productive, adding the new CARP awardees can now avail themselves of the Land Bank of the Philippine’s (LandBank) Accessible and Sustainable Lending Program, in which credit are very accessible to most farmers at a low interest rate of 6 percent per annum.
