Road safety issues and stronger implementation of safety solutions will be highlighted at the upcoming Safer Mobility and Logistics Conference and Exhibition on September 24 and 25 at The Tent, Solaire Manila, Pasay City.
Organized by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), the event will include panel discussions featuring road and logistics safety stakeholders and innovators to promote the engagement and collaboration among the public and private sectors. Non-government organizations will join the conversation in implementing the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) Roadmap and other logistics safety action plan.
“One major cause of death are road accidents, they just rarely make the headlines. We cannot and should not dismiss road accidents as something common. The more frequent they happen, the more we should collectively do something about it,” said Allan Santos, Marketing Manager of Bridgestone Philippines on continuing their road safety campaign through supporting ECCP’s initiatives on safer mobility and logistics.
The plenary discussions over the course of two days will address key areas such as road safety management, safer roads and mobility, safer vehicles, safer road users, post-crash response, and safer logistics. The sessions will include insights from industry leaders, road safety experts, and public representatives including Department of Transportation Undersecretary Mark Richmund De Leon, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority BGen. Danilo Lim, Department of Public Works and Highways Bureau of Quality and Safety Officer-in-Charge Engr. Jonathan L. Araullo, International Road Assessment Program (iRAP) Strategic Projects Managing Director Mr. Greg Smith, Automobile Association of the Philippines President Mr. Augusto Lagman, INAEC Aviation General Manager Mr. Aldi Dexter Ampong, Philippine Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Office of the Administrator, Officer-in-Charge Vice Admiral Narciso A. This is our way of driving the conversation to make sure we are taking the right measures to keep everyone safe. That’s why I would like to personally invite all stakeholders and all those interested in road safety to join us at this event,” said ECCP President Nabil Francis.
The event will also host an exhibit that will feature a curated display of cutting-edge vehicles that offer a glimpse of the future of transport in terms of form, function and mobility.
