THERE is no other way to start the New Year in exciting fashion than when Beepbeep.ph, an online app that connects car owners to appropriate establishments regarding car tune-ups and other related services, opts to put up a one-of-a-kind car show this coming January 31 to February 3 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Dubbed as Manila Autocon (Manila Automotive Convention), the affair, according to its organizers, is deemed to be the first automotive convention-cum-exhibit in the country.
“We want to gather everyone around in one neutral platform, wherein it will help them in the grassroots level and everyone benefits from it,” said Beepbeep.ph CEO Anton Ojeda.
“This is going to a fun event that would get people excited and can eventually drive the industry. Drive the business,” he added.
Not your usual 20-minute walk around
“ONCE people are there, we want them to stay and experience the whole event,” Ojeda even further mentioned about the uniqueness of the Manila Autocon.
True enough, the organizers are planning to hold a symposium, wherein it aims to gather many of the local motoring industry’s movers and shakers.
“We have lined up a formidable selection of resource persons to share valuable insights about digitalization, business expansion, new technology, consumer trends and public relations in the automotive realm. It’s all about getting the industry up to speed on best practices and cutting-edge technology that will help shape and assure our future in mobility,” the head honcho shared.
The other part of the affair is a massive car and accessories exhibit. According to Ojeda, it is not your typical “for your eyes only” car show.
“Booths promoting B2B [business to business] and B2C [Business to consumers/customers] opportunities, marketing and operations executives, enthusiasts and the general public to learn best practices about, take stock of, discuss and grow our automotive industry and its attached businesses.”

PERHAPS one that would draw attention would be the guest appearance of renowned Filipino-American wrestler and Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave “Batista” Bautista Jr.
For them, it would be one form of automotive celebration, as the international star would also get to share his passion for automobiles.
Other activities mentioned during the press conference that would make the event more fun are car auctions, local celebrity entertainment numbers and car raffle draws.
Alongside the car displays and car auctions are after-market selling booths and exhibits on maintenance and mechanical repair, body repair, wheels and tires, and other services and products that will be at the venue.
There will also be a die-cast car display, a “drift box” course and other exciting activities for all ages.
“We believe that everyone in the family will find something interesting at Manila Autocon 2019.”
With this, the organizers are targeting a total of 120,000 attendees for the whole four-day affair.
